Our Fathom India Pale Lager combines time-honored lagering techniques with the hop profiles of a West Coast IPA recipe. The cold-fermenting lager yeast provides a clean base that allows the citrus and pine aromas from the hops to really shine. The result is a gold medal beer with a refreshing, easy drinking character and just the right amount of depth.

Golden with a white head - Fruity hop aroma - Nice malt body with a n ice hop profile that gives some fruity tones and some bitterness - The malt and fruity hops goes into the finish - This was nice

Can from AA. Clear honey orange with a small white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Amarillo-like nose with pine and citrus with some tea leaves as well. Average carbonation with a medium to medium light body. Easy to drink but very IPA-like on the palate. Sweetness balanced with bitterness for sure. Slight bitter finish with some pepper. Definitely more of an IPA than a lager. --- Beer merged from original tick of Ballast Point Fathom IPL (India Pale Lager) on 13 Jan 2016 at 21:41 - Score: 7. Original review text: Really nice dry-hopped IPL...Amarillo I presume?

355 ml can. Clear golden body with a nice off-white head. Aroma is nice as well with citric fruit, peach and hint of spices. Flavor is mild pale malt, lots of citric fruit, good bitterness and hint of caramel. Medium bodied and fruity, bitter aftertaste. Somehow a bit unusually and strange, but not bad or weird. Just got to get rid of the good old prejudices and it’s a rather pleasant brew and a nice thirst quencher.

355 ml can, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 7,0%. Golden colour, huge white head. Aroma of piney and citrussy American hops, some spicy hints. Medium sweet and dull flavour, not as crisp as I expected it. Bordering on "bland", the hops are not nearly as dominant as expected.

Can 35,5 cl. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Nice citrusy aroma, minty even. But also a strange chemical off-note. Medium body, fruity, oxidized, really chemical and unpleasant in the finish. 301115

Boks 355ml fra Systembolaget Kiruna. Drukket i Skibotn 17 Aug 15. Gyldenbrun. Svakt uklar. Lavt skum. God aroma av fersken & krydder. Smaken har et sterkt krydderpreg. Harpiks. Et annerledes øl.

Bottle from BottleDog, Edinburgh. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Faint lacing. Aroma of honey, straw, pine and grass. Flavour is sweeter than expected - toffee, lemon sweets and grass. Medium body with a light, oily texture. Soft fizz. Not one I’d buy again.
