Our Fathom India Pale Lager combines time-honored lagering techniques with the hop profiles of a West Coast IPA recipe. The cold-fermenting lager yeast provides a clean base that allows the citrus and pine aromas from the hops to really shine. The result is a gold medal beer with a refreshing, easy drinking character and just the right amount of depth.

Bottle at home. Orange golden beer with white soapy head. Nose is lovely tropical fruits and pine. Tastes of bitter sticky pine, apple, mangos, apricot, doughy, and dried leaves. Slight syrupy palate. Dry aftertaste with lingering tropical fruits.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Syosset Beverage, 10/15/14
Aroma: The nose is doughy malt and a pretty hoppy, grapefruit rind, and some floral notes
Appearance: It pours cloudy gold-orange color with a white head that leaves fairly coating
Flavor: Tastes fairly bitter, citrus/grapefruit rind more so than fruit, with a balancing doughy malt
Palate: The body is medium, it has a soft carbonation, smooth mouthfeel, and a rather dry close
Overall Impression: I'm guessing we are getting close to IPL being its own style on RB? Anyway, this is a quite dry beer. The ctirus/grapefruit flavor is much more on the rind side than the fruit side. Quite dry/bitter.

Bottle shared at Chrissoβs May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Thanks to Chris! Aroma is candied pine, dank, spicy orange peel hops. Clear golden coloured pour with a lasting white head. Flavour is caramel / honey malt ascents, pine resin. Really nice clean ferment. Lingering spicy hop. Palate is chewy, resin hop, fresh on the tongue. Finish is medium dry. Very clean and drinkable with good hop depth.

Some light citrus brings this together for a decent drink. Pours golden with ok head and lacing. Some citrus, and a touch of trashy aroma in finish with some bitterness - perhaps I just donβt prefer lagering. Comes together well though, for style. Tap at Churchkey.

Sample at Daily Growler UA. The beer pours a slightly hazy straw-gold color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruits, herbal hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruity hops and pineapple, toasted malt and pine. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle at the chriso May 2014 tasting - London. Pours perfectly clear gold with a creamy white head. Great aroma with notes of tangerine, grapefruit and pale bread. Medium sweet flavor with light bitter citrus rind, some herbal hops, anise, ripe citrus, white bread. Light to medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly bitter, with mellow marmalade, ripe orange, grapefruit rind. Very decent.
