Hopulent IPA is a big beer with lots of complex malt flavor and excessive hops. This beer will have changes to the grain bill and seasonal hop changes. The character of Hopulent IPA is over the top, too much of everything—a real HOP HEADS DELIGHT!

Bottle shared at Craft, big thanks to Craig! Pours bright, cloudy gold with a moderate, white foam head. Tangy grapefruit on the nose, with sugar-coated pine needles as well. Medium to big sweet flavor with soft caramel, dry grapefruit and other, ripe citrus. Yeah, lots of rindy grapefruit in here. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately resinous to finish with some jammy fruits, ripe grapefruit, light yeast and bread. Lasting grapefruit. Very nice. (3.8)

Bottle shared at GBBF 2013. Thanks to Paul! Pours lightly hazy yellow-gold with a frothy white cap. The nose holds anise and grapefruit. Medium sweet flavour with strong juicy citrus and grassy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish with notes of papaya and grapefruit. Rich and tasty. 22oz bottle split with Anndiesel, procured on her East Coast jaunt. Unfiltered thick orange-tan, steady off-white head. Resiny, grassy, herbal hop aroma, Hop forward, but a big malt body underlying. Fuggles/EKG..maybe some Cascade if I had to guess, they come off pretty big and resinous. A pretty solid IPA, somewhere between regular and Imperial. Quality offering, well done.

Tap. Pours light amber mostly clear with a small head that has good staying power with some lacing. Aroma is of citrus/grapefruit with some floral scents. Taste is slightly sweet, piney and floral. Extremely bitter from start to finish, including a very bitter aftertaste. Overall a little watery in the mouth.

22 oz. bottle, pours a murky medium-to-dark orange with a medium white head. Aroma of creamsicle, spicy and piney hops, some candied sugar and grainy malts. Flavour of piney hops, dry citrus peel (without the tang), oranges, creamsicle, with a fair amount of sweetness. Finishes grapefruity and bitter. Quite a sticky body for an IPA. Cloyingly sweet and very bitter in a bad way.

Sample at the House Wine EPIC beer tasting on 04/18/2012: This beer is a hazy dark golden-orange color with a medium off-white head that burns away steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Floral hops and sweet malt in the nose. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character that has floral and citrus notes. Some bready malt in the background. The finish is hoppy with a grapefruity aftertaste. Above average overall.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light herbal hoppy. Dry malty, pine and herbal hoppy flavoured. Seems a bit tired on the hops. Bitter and bone dry yet also malty finish.
