Hopulent IPA is a big beer with lots of complex malt flavor and excessive hops. This beer will have changes to the grain bill and seasonal hop changes. The character of Hopulent IPA is over the top, too much of everything—a real HOP HEADS DELIGHT!

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 3/20/12

Aroma: Juicy (orange, peach, and other citrus fruits) aroma, with some grass, earth, and spice
Appearance: This one pours a cloudy orange color, with a small fizzy white head and streaky lace
Flavor: The taste is medium-plus sweet, with lots of juicy citrus, and a light-medium bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, with a fairly smooth and creamy feel, and a clean (lightly dry) finish
Overall Impression: This one was very solid for a sweet DIPA. It felt a little lacking on the hop-bitterness side of the style in my opinion, but I still enjoyed it. The bitterness isn't completely missing by any means, it comes through it the lightly dry finish, but it is quite a bit less bitter then many other beers in this style. If you are a fan of balanced (leaning sweet) DIPAs with a lot of citrus, this is definitely a good beer for you.

Bottle from a trade with Gription79. Pours hazy burnt orange color with off white head. Aromas of grapefruit and pnr with some caramel malts. Bitter grapefruit rind flavor with some pine and malt sweetness. Medium body with average carbonation. Very nice! Thanks Dallas.

Bomber from Brewforia. Pours light amber with a creamy light beige head. Aromas of fruit, resin and light caramel. Full bodied. Flavor is resin, fruit, light citrus, and a firm caramel backbone. In the end some grapefruit rind definitely is left. Very nice drink.

22oz bottle. I’d hate to think I got a bad bottle (or just an old one), but this one was not at all what I expected, especially from Epic. Aroma was mostly malt-bomb, with some floral notes. Flavor was malty (another malt-bomb), notes of hops, but not a lot. I’ll check it out on tap next time I see it.

Pretty good IPA. Pours a nice golden, copper yellow with good-sized head. Strong piney hop aroma. Flavor is hops and citrus and pine. Fairly bitter finish. Pretty strong alcohol content--this one sneaks up on you a bit. Not bad at all.

Pours mostly clear dark yellow under a sticky, tall, long lasting white head. Musty citrus hop aroma. The flavor is lightly bitter that stays through to the finish. A bit thin.

Not as hoppy as one would expect a double IPA to be. Looks like one, cloudy orange with medium white head. Much lacing, Light hop aroma. Full bodied. Doesn’t taste as strong as it is. Nice hop finish.

Hazy amber coloured body with a copper glow and a thin slightly off-white head. Aroma of strong caramel, hops, pineapple, pine, sugars and a touch of floral notes. Full-bodied; Syrupy, resiny hop flavour with a ton of pine and pineapple, a lot of grassy notes and a touch of light earthiness. Aftertaste shows a deep pungent hoppiness with the pine and pineapple notes coming through with a ton of alcohol and a lot of warmth from that. Overall, a nice and strong Imperial IPA that is a bit lighter than I thought from drinking (8,5% abv). I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 04-July-2011 for US$5.99 sampled at home home in Manassas, Virginia on 05-August-2011.

Hazy orange with a big and lasting white head. Juicy hop aroma with pine and grapefruit. Very sweet with fruity hop flavour and quite a bit of yeast character.
