A balanced malt, hop and spice nose. Taste features roasted malt, some mildly fruity hops, deep rye spiciness and some grassiness. Dark berries and booze heat are nice undertastes. Complex, refreshing but rich at the same time. A classic.

Can. Roasted malt aroma with notes of dark chocolate, earthy rye, grapefruit citrus and pine resiny hops. Pours black with a finger of mocha brown head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with roasted malt. Dark chocolate and grapefruit flavors. Finishes dry with earthy rye and pine resiny hop flavors. Excellent black IPA.

Black pour, big light brown head. Aroma is a spectacular blend of resinous pine, and roasty coffee malts. Mouth feel is silky, and carb is soft. The finish though kinds falls off. The hops fade big time and the strong roast just fades and is a light cocoa, and hints of brown sugar, with medium bitterness. Started great, finkshed weak.

355ml can. Jet black colour with average, frothy to creamy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, beige head. Chocolately, roasty, dark malty, slightly spicy and piney, slightly citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, whiffs of mint, woodruff, eucalyptus. Taste is bitter, citrusy fruity and herbal hoppy, bitter, roasty and slightly chocolately, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, some rye spiciness, some lemon and orange, a touch of mint, eucalyptus, woodruff; lingering, bitter hoppy finish. Oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Quite oily hoppy, fairly bitter, fine composition of opposite flavours - great!

0.355 l can from 'Beer Republic'. Very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Intensely fruity-resiny, gently roasty aroma of pine, blueberry, tropical fruits, coffee, dark chocolate and some caramel. Gently sweet, malty, quite roasty, rather fruity-resiny taste of massive pine, orange jam, mango, some blueberry, dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee and light caramel, followed by a short, quite roasty, rather bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Fantastic BIPA, very intense and super hoppy, definitely among the best I've ever had.
