Nose is loaded with Belgian yeast character of banana and clove with an equally fruity body balanced with a light, earthy hop character. Savor notes of orange and spice followed by a dry finish.

12 oz bottle that was cellared for 9 months. Purchased at Julio’s Liquors. Consumed at cellar temp into my Allagash tulip glass. Hazy golden color with white head, leaving spider-web type lace. Floating sediment is in the glass. Aroma is yeast, lemon and spices, with hints of bananas. Taste is definite clove with spice presence; alcohol comes out in the flavor but as an older bottle, not real noticeable. It’s sweet yet it has a hop that makes it less so. Reminds me of a Wit beer. Real nice beer and worth a try. I’d like to sample this on draught. Better than some more expensive larger bottles I’ve had.

0.355l bottle from myBrewerytap. This one pours a golden/yellow body with a nice medium sized lasting just off-white head. The aroma has lots of citrus and lime-zesty tones. Also it has that Belgian yeasty thing often found in these kind of brews, a tone of banana-sweetness and perhaps even some hints of fruits. The red fruity kinds. Nice enough Belgian aroma. Surprisingly watery on the palate this, and it has a average carbonation level. Mild in the flavor. Extremely well hidden that ABV 9.5%. Almost scarry well hidden. Feels like I'm drinking water actually. Well, not water perhaps, but it's quite mild and really camuflaged for a 9.5%'er. Light fruity as well, with hints of sweet gooseberries (yeah they do excist), Belgian yeast and something near spicy-peppery. Quite nice flavors, perhaps bit subtle, but nice enough. 17.02.2012

Orange pour with a quickly dissipating white head. Orange pith, vanilla and sweet spice aroma. Sweet-fruity spice flavour with a splash of pear and kiwi. Dry spicy-fruit finish.

355ml bottle. Cloudy golden colour with small fading white head. Fruity pineapple aroma, clove and other spices, yeast. Taste is also spicy, yeasty, fruity. A brew trying to come near a pristine prototype of its style.

A golden beer with a small yeast particles, medium and white head. Aroma is fruitfull, yeast, lemon and spicyness, hint of bananas. Taste is fruitfull, "belgian-"yeast, lots of spicyness, some honey sweetness, quite dry and herbal aftertaste, alcohol is there, but it cannot taste. Medium+ bodied, nice to drink. Golden Monkey is not so complicated as top-quality Tripels, but still it is enjoyable, fruitfull beer without complains.

Purchased at Armanetti’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed while making dinner prior to the Bears game. Appearance a nice slightly clear gold with a rich white head, tiny carbonation bubbles rising to the top. Aroma of Belgian yeast, a bit of clove, a bit of fruity sweet, somewhat nice. Taste is very good, definite clove/spice presence, alcohol comes out in the flavor but it’s not overpowering, it’s like a higher ABV saison really, high drinkability, finishes light with medium body. Good stuff.

[11/11]Bottle. Gold with a large white head. Aroma of apples, oranges, coriander, white pepper. Taste is modestly sweet with some bitterness and plenty of spices. There’s sugar but also peaches and oranges in the sweetness. Prickly carbonation that’s about where I like it for this sort of thing. Not a lot of intrigue but pleasant powerful flavours. Boozy but there’s nothing raw about it. Pretty good. [3.5]Can. Neither particularly refined nor exotic, but solid.

From a 355ml bottle on 27/10/2011. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow colour with a thick head which disappears quickly. The aroma is of Belgian style yeast, with some fruit (apples) and spices. In the mouth, you get sweet fruitiness, spiciness, with some pepper notes and a dash of alcohol. A little over carbonated for my liking. Good but not particularly special.
