12oz bottle. Amber-orange body, thin beige head. Big fresh hop aroma. Not unlike Hopslam in a lot of respects, a hint doughier maybe? Very pleasant mouthfeel, hop flavors cover a broad spectrum of flavors, from piny to tropical. Excellent beer.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a caramel-amber color with a medium sized foamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweet pine, caramel, resin and a bit of grapefruit. The flavor was sweet and tangy pine, resin, black tea, grapefruit, lemon and a faint caramel undertone. Bitter pine and grapefruit finish. Moderately full bodied. Solid though unspectacular.

Imperial Pint draft at the Great Lakes Brewing Company bar at concourse C of the Cleveland airport. The pour is a mostly clear golden amber with a smallish off white head. The aroma is tropical fruit pineapple and grapefruit citrus hops along with light sweet cereal malt. The taste is the tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, light lemon citrus, than moves toward the soft sweetness of caramel and the malt. Nice balance, not overly sweet. The palate is medium bodied, soft active carbonation and residual sweetness in the finish that shows some of the alcohol. Does not cloy at all, nice DIPA.

Amber with a firm off-white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, floral, light malty sweetness. Medium, slick body with a light carbonation bite. Flavor is sweet fruits, floral hops, light caramel malts. Nice lingering bitter finish. Not as overly sweet as many DIPAs but with enough to balance the higher hop amounts. Much more accessible than many DIPAs. Top-notch.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 5/1/2013. Pours lightly hazy orange amber color with a small fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of huge mango, grapefruit, orange zest, orange rind, tangerine, pineapple, floral, caramel, honey, light pine, and floral earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of hop and malt notes. Taste of big pineapple, mango, tangerine, orange zest, orange rind, floral, caramel, honey, light pine, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of citrus bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, tropical fruit, floral, caramel, honey, light pine, and floral earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible balance and complexity of hop and malt flavors; with a near perfect bitterness/sweetness balance; and absolutely zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy, lightly slick, and sticky mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Dangerously easy to drink. Overall this is an outstanding double IPA! Great malt and hop complexity and balanced; and extremely smooth to drink. An incredibly enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Pours a coppery orange with a pretty decent head and interesting aromas. I get white grape juice, pineapple and mango. Flavor is a very fruity medley of the aroma notes balanced against a honey and biscuity malt backdrop. This is not your punch in the face resin bomb IIPA, but rather a more delicate and balanced take on the style. And itβs yummy!

From a bottle at Churchkey in DC. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Nice grapefruit aroma. Flavors of citrus zest, grass and spruce needles. Bitter finish. Nice DIPA.
