Bazaar Porter
If you’re tired of run-of-the-mill flavors, maybe some coffee and exotic spices will perk you up. We gathered 5BEANS from the bazaar to create a cultural phenomenon; a melting pot of cacao, vanilla, coffee, and cardamom creates our original Turkish inspired porter. It’s Mad Science.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours black with small frothy tan head that lasts. The aroma is cocoa, roast, cracker. Medium body, cracker malt, chocolate, light roast, abrupt finish, good.

Thanks Dave for sharing the can! Poured into a taster showing coffee brown rims with sparse white foam around the edges. The nose shows a lot of roasted coffee beans. The palate is highly carbonated with an airy mouthfeel but a very strong alcoholic spiciness. Strong flavors of black coffee with a roasted coffee bitterness. Probably would have a been a nice porter but for the high ABV.

12 ounce can. Pours a barely translucent mahogany brown color. Moderate sized beige head is dense with a big clinging lace. Big earthy roasted malt nose. Intense bittersweet roasted malt flavor has notes of dark coffee, dark chocolate, licorice and cardamom. Obvious boozy notes as well. Lots of earthy, spicy, smoky flavor. Finishes with notes of black coffee and motor oil.

Really good brew had at Rattle. Dark brown pour. Nose is rich coffee and earth. Tastes of coffee, earthy, some peppery spice, chocolate and root beer. Smooth with light bitters.

Slim can from Berthold’s Better Beer’s Dark brown with faint garnet at the edges and a huge bubbly beige head that persists. Coffee and chocolate with peppery lemony spice on the nose. Coffee roast and chocolate with an earthy spicy peppery lemony spice. Smooth creamy mouthfeel light carbonation. Pretty damn tasty beer, alcohol is nonexistent!

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a pure black color with a thick off white to eggshell white foamy finger’s worth of head that dissipates pretty quick. Light foamy spider web lace weaves around the glass nicely.
The aroma has some sweet milk chocolate, rugged roasty to bitter coffee bean, some vanilla bean and a sharp portion of black licorice/anise to level things out nicely. Light spice - cardamom?
The flavor brings about the sharp roasty tones of the coffee, chocolate and vanilla beans. Bitterness is there but a bit contained. Licorice/anise seems definitely fainter than in the aroma. Sly roasty to sweet aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice balance between sipping to sessionable sleekness rolling over my tongue with a light stickiness.
Overall, within time perhaps within several months, this one will meld nicely to produce an absolute wonderful balance of it all. Right now, it’s a bit \"green\" but still wonderful right now.
