"Clean this mess up or else we'll all end up in jail...those test tubes and the scale...just get 'em all outta here..." He was referring to the complex super-critical-CO2 hop extraction equipment set up on the table in the lab across from the brewhouse. Hop extracts are for the BIG brewers, he thought - suitable only for crummy sub-standard and barely-passable industrial lagers, not the subtle and elegant craft beer made here. But wrong he was. The New Brewer does not eschew any possible inputs. In this case the mountain of extracts will replace the mountain of hop vegetative material in the kettle thus creating cleaner hop flavors and preventing the otherwise spinach-like mess of a kettle full of super-hopped wort from clogging up a pump or worse. The sensuous honey-like amber ooze was administered intravenously to the wort kettle and the sacrament was complete. Another kettle of Hop Stoopid is once again raised up and fermented on high

Keg at Brewdog Camden. Slightly cloudy amber colour with a beige/gold head of small bubbles. Aroma is hoppy and bitter, bit of garlic and a bit of funkiness. Maybe sour cream and onion? Very strange but nice. Taste is very crisp, bit yeasty, initially a burst of bitterness and then a mellow malty finish. Bit of booziness and spikiness. Very nice.

355ml bottle [as 'Hop Stoopid Ale']. Barely clear, orangey dark golden to amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Floral, grassy and resinous, slightly citrusy, hoppy aroma, caramel malty basis. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty and floral hoppy, slightly grassy and citrusy with accumulating hop bitterness, a touch of peppermint and toffee; lingering citrusy and floral hoppy finish. Oily texture, smooth, soft and silky palate, gentle carbonation. Very harmonious, superbly balanced, well integrated hop bitterness with accumulating effect though.

Strong hop aroma that is apparent from the moment the bottle was opened. Pours a clear amber with a head that soon fizzles out. Tastes like an IPA, specifically like one of Sierra Nevada’s heavier IPAs. Elements of pine and citrus are on the back of the tongue. Absolutely wild amount of hops dominate every part of this beer. Far more drinkable than I had anticipated. Easily the hoppiest beer I have ever had.

Tap at Bishops Arms Östersund. A beer of epic proportions. Fresh tasting, fruity hops. Moorish bitterness. Alcohol week hidden. Close to perfection. Retried. This time it came across as much much more bitter and much more butch. 4.2 to 3.8
