Bottle - Alcohol and grapefruit hops on the nose. Crystal clear amber with a minimal head. A hop blast right up front with a bit of alcohol kick in the back of the throat. The hops just don’t quit in this beer and although I do get some of the sweetness, I don’t think it comes out enough to balance this beer. Bottle - Piney, earthy brown sugars. Clear copper with a decent white head. Pine, brown sugars and caramel. Not better but still good.

Had to have this one just to make nuplastikk’s life easier. Brown color, tan head, solid lacing. a big beer, as you would expect. Sweet, but balanced enough. I guess it’s obligatory to say that the alcohol is well hidden - so there, I said it.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish amber with a large beige head that dissipates with great lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, caramel and pine. Flavor is the same, hops foward with a light sweetness and medium bitterness lingering through the far finish. Not what I expected at all, but this is a nice DIPA in my opinion.

Tap at alewife pours deep amber with thin purple head. Nose of dark fruits and toffee. tastes of caramel, brown sugar, nutty, drk cherries, anise, raisins, and vanilla. high carbonation and slight alcohol warming make for an interesting brew

2012 Vintage, 6 pack and enjoyed at fridge temperature in a snifter.

A - Burnt caramel brown with a 2 finger tan head that fades slowly. Decent head lacing.

S - Sweet caramel notes, some cream and vanilla beans.

T - Wow. Lots of booze noticeable at the finish. Start is a dry sweet caramel taste. MIddle is vanilla, brown sugar and this very hoppy bitterness.

M - Heavy body. Medium carbonation

O - This beer lives up to the hype. Will be buying another 6-pack of it.

12 oz bottle from Bert’s Pours a crystal clear medium copper color with a huge yellow white head that slowly dissipates to a cap and lots of leggy lace. Earthy and piney hop aromas mixed with a fair amount of caramel light fruit and candy and darker sugar. There’s a solid shot of ethanol in the aroma that reminds you this is a big beer, but it never seems harsh. The flavor is big and sweet up front with lots of candied and darker sugars. Solid earth and resinous hop flavors with barely any harsh edges. A bit of warming alcohol lingers long after each sip. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. This is a really nice big beer, I really enjoyed it.

Draught at MacGregors. Pretty orange-brown color with thick lace. Fruity aroma, cherry, raisin, sweet orange. Sweet flavor with honey, caramel, dried fruit. Strong hop and alcohol. SMooth and oily. Too sweet overall, needs some age.
