bottle - Pours golden with a moderate head. The aroma is mild and has a little hops in it. The is lightly malty with a good, moderately strong hops presence. The finish is crisp and smooth with a touch of lingering hops. It goes down easy, but is flavorful and not too thin. Great Lakes has made a very good session brew.

Aromas are like a sweet pilsner with white grape notes. Color is a nice clear amber, and due to a mispour, I am looking at about a three inch head. As the head dissipates, it is lacing pretty nicely. Flavor is sweet and malty. There is definitely a fruity note to this one, but it is a sweet white grape/honey/citrus. Fairly light and not bad... but kind of blah.

Bottle: Poured a clear light copper color beer with a nice clean white bubbly head with pretty good retention. Aroma of floral malt and subtle hops. Taste is very refreshing with a good malt presence, a full body (for the style) and medium bitterness at the end. Very good for the style.

Draft, at GLBC. How did I miss trying this until now? Good pils color and a nice German hops smell. Thin head. A striking pale malt taste β yes, a pale-type lager with taste β with that slight note of hardened water. Nicely done.

Pour is a bright gold with a white head. Aroma is malty with a touch of hops. Flavor is crisp and dry. Malts used in this one carry the beer. If you in the mood for a malty lager then this is for you.

Bottle Pours a a slightly hazy light golden amber with a good foamy white head. Aroma is a light fresh smelling grain, apple cider, and yeast with an easy hops trace. Flavor is slightly sweet, bready and the slightly higer ABV is noticeable. Feel is very light and crisp and the finish is quick, clean with just a hint of hops. Very nice refreshing, light brew.

Somewhat neutral aroma. Nice orange golden low head. Compared to the average bavarian Helles available to me I found this one to be a bit too lightfooted - the solid malt footprint is simply not there. Maybe my sample was too small or I tasted beers in the wrong order, but this brew did not wow me...

Lightly hazy gold with a tinge of amber. Aroma lightly hoppy with herbs, grass, clean malt. Perfectly balanced flavor, well made with clean malt and tingly hop flavors, and light finish. Superb.

A nice smooth beer going down, and is probably the most popular from the Great Lakes Brewing Company. This beer goes down quick, which may or may not be a problem (depending on how drunk you want to get), and gets filling after a few. Itβs semi-sweet flavor isnβt too sweet that youβll tire of it... and itβs usually the first or second choice when I am in a bar.

2003 Bottle. Pours a rich golden orange. No sediment and very clear. Aroma is sharp and spicy. Good amount of white foamy head. Begins very powerfully, with lots of strong, sharp yeast/hops flavor right away. However, there is an undercurrent of dry, flat grain taste that makes its way out shortly after the hops flavor has worn off. The beer takes on too much a watery texture, especially as it warms. I also found that the powerful up front taste gets very old after a few of these. Not complex at all. Medium acidity.
