Named after California’s Highway 78, this India Pale Ale was brewed in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the city of Vista. With plenty of Galaxy, Falconer’s Flight, Southern Cross and just a tad bit of Nelson hops, our latest IPA is truly sessionable. Aroma’s include grapefruit, passionfruit, and citrus.

Can from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a medium off-white head. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of crisps and passionfruit. Flavour of peach, peppery hops and sweet malt. Medium body with a smooth texture. Light fizz. A bit weird.

Can. Lightly hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and mildly dry. Decent fine carbonation. Thin but fluffy pale malts, mild creamy sweetness. Hops bring a sweetish pine that slowly turns a little more bitter. Touches of skunk and resin. Mild orange citrus and overripe mango. Smooth finish. Hop spice lingers on. Hangs together well.

Can from The Bottle Shop London and drunk on a train. Big resin hop aroma. Bit classic American ipa. Some toffee and maybe some crystal malt sweetness. Some bitterness on the finish. Some abv on the finish. Certainly hoppy bit sweet.

Can from Beer Gonzo webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home Thursday 14th January 2016 Pours light mid light gold, light haziness a small white head. Crisp, clean grapefruit flavours, dry finish, trying to think what this reminds me of, perhaps Siren QIPA? I prefer this to the IPA. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Can, bb 9/16. Ooh, classy. Hazy pale amber with an inch of puffy white head. Aroma of passionfruit, mandarins, pineapple, grass. Very sweet with pineapple and mandains. No caramel but the pale malt is a bit flabby and unfocused. . Modearte bitterness that creeps up a bit with some herbal notes and some astringency. A bit fruit saladish for me but not bad.

Draught @ Whole Foods, Hillcrest, San Diego. Aroma is sweet and heavy with tropical fruits. Also fruit candy. Flavour has pineapple juice and some minerals. There’s some dry and plastic off-flavour present. Decent.
