The Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout is a traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). Because lactose is unfermentable by brewer’s yeast, it remains in the beer. The subtle sweetness and fullness of flavor imparted by this sugar balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains that give this delicious beer its black color. All year long, Milk Stout is our number one selling beer!

Cask at GBBF 2019, Olympia, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, milk chocolate aroma and taste. Not much going on here.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Light haze on this amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, that lactose twang. Tangy dark fruits. Mellow tangy dark chocolate. Light finish. Good for its style.

Black with a creamy, beige head. Aroma full of smoke, tobacco and oatmeal. Sweet up front, tart as it moves on. Creamy, smooth medium body. Pleasant.

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a real nice roast with some bitter bakers chocolate, maybe even a bit of dark fruit and sugar. Flavor is more roast and bakes chocolate but it kind of loses a bit of sweetness I was looking for. Finishes more dry than sweet. Still this was a solid beer. Everything your looking for in a milk stout, it's just a little more dry than sweet.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent dark brown color. Small creamy tan head. Mild roasted malt nose. Flavor upfront is roasted malt and unsweetened cocoa. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Though it's a Milk Stout, it's not overtly sweet, as I expected it may be. The lactose balances this nicely. Very tasty.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a pitch black with a half-finger of beige head. Roasted coffee, prune and toasted granola. Medium body, great balance. Lingering chocolate and coffee notes. Touch of latte on the finish. I like this. --- Beer merged from original tick of The Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout on 04 Sep 2017 at 20:39 - Score: 7.
