Bottle from Harris Teeter, Hampstead, North Carolina. Dark reddish-brown with a thin off-white head. Has a sweet nose, with a mildly sweet dark malt taste rather than any stated roasted malts.

Bottle poured into a pilsner showing pitch black with coffee black rims and very sparse latte colored foam. The nose shows a lactose sweet note throughout on top of a bed of roasted malts. The palate is light bodied with light carbonation. Immediate subtle lactose sweetness appears but closer to a soybean-like sweetness. Barely any bitterness. A bit thin on flavor all around and a very simple milk stout.

Bottle @ home, thanks to jcnielsen for sending. Pours a deep reddish black appearance with a thin brown head. The aroma is a little ashy, some dark chocolate, light coffee, earth, and a little bit of milk sugar. Moderate plus sweetness. Moderate bitterness. Fairly well balanced. Burnt ashy woody flavor. Some coconut milk, earthy coffee. Fine.
