(500ml 2016 bottle from boxbeers.dk) Pours a slightly hazy deep amber with a small, rapidly dissipating white head that leaves no bubbles nor lace. Aroma is strongly of preserved sour cherries in sugar syrup, marzipan/almonds, light to moderate citric sourness, oak, slight white wine, vague tart berries, some sweet malt. Flavour is lemony tartness up front, a bit white wine-like, more subtle sour cherry notes, fairly neutral woody quality, picking up more almonds later in the sip and into the finish. A bit of soda water minerality in the finish and aftertaste too, along wth lemon spritz and a bit of sour cherry. Rather light bodied, verging on watery, with rather high fizzy soda carbonation. The nose is fairly unique, with big addition concentration, maybe to a fault. In contrast, the palate feels a bit light, limp and generic. Doesn’t totally live up to the promise smelled.

Bottle poured into a taster showing unfiltered orange peel with no head. The nose shows tart bright notes of cherries and almonds in the background. The palate is medium bodied and well carbonated. Highly tart with flavors of forward cherries and an oak like almond background. Refreshing resurgence of almonds on the finish.
