Defender of the intergalactic downtrodden, conqueror of bad beers and long-winded evildoers, Galactica soars with ease from one star system to the next. Her dual-hop staff disperses justice, freedom, and intense hop flavor. Dry hopped with Galaxy Hops, this Double IPA balances a hop profile of light bitterness and notes of tropical fruit, citrus, and pine with a clean malt backbone.

Can from Whole Foods P Street. Medium/dark golden with small, but dense head. Aroma is mild, citrus, hops, malts. Taste is more citrus, slightly tangy, getting dry towards the finish. Does not come across as imperial, its pretty damn smooth, I was even surprised to see it was 8% ABV. Easy drinker.

Off white creamy head stayed well on a ruby red, still still body. Well balanced aroma - smells really smooth. Over ripe fruit, wood & orange. Medium to full bodied, oily, minimal carbonation & cloying. Heavy on the hops with bitter citrus, pith, sweet malt, red berries & a woody finish.

Tall boy can from ABV. Pours a clear orange hue with a small white head. A light citrus fruity nose. Big sweet hops, fresh, oranges, resinous, almost IIIPA like sweet hops, light biscuit, bitterness. Solid.

Bottle from Total Wine, South Richmond. Pours murky orange-brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is pine, resin, grapefruit, toast, licorice. Flavor is pine, grapefruit rind, resin. A bit of a sweetness in there that fades. It feels tired.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a semi-hazy amber color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Slight messy lace.
The aroma had some piney/resin bitterness playing with some sweet biscuits/somewhat like breadiness.
The flavor leaned into the malts with a sweet glance to pummel the hop tones down a little bit. Still, a nicely blended aftertaste running into the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a decent sipping quality as the ABV felt appropriate. Carbonation felt fine.
Overall, another one of those beers that I would say is an \"old school DIPA.\" I’d have again for me, but can understand why a ton of hopheads aren’t going to like this.
