Fairly clear copper and light amber coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall tan head that fades to just a thin layer, but leaves a pretty ugly lace on the side of the glass. Aroma of resin, pine, flowers, grain, alcohol, pungent biscuits and yeast and a dose of astringency near the end - quite strong in the nose. Medium-bodied; Biting bitterness at first that is from the pungencies of the grain and alcohol and much less from hops, but those are quite strong as well, especially towards the end with an El Dorado or more grainy or floral, grassy flavour along with a tiny bit of citrus and bitterness from fruits. Aftertaste shows some reprieve from the malt-based bitterness with a nice orange and grapefruity citrus note and a light sweetness that somehow beats out the alcohol and punch towards the end, but all with a fairly good balance. Overall, a decent enough Imperial IPA that shows some good notes from the malt and alcohol (if that is what you prefer), but a bit lacking in terms of hop complexities, softer finishes and a more pronounced hop note [over the grain and malts]. I sampled this sixteen ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 28-February-2019 for US$3,49 sampled less than a month later on 24-March-2019 at home in Washington.

[12oz can from the Beer52 box for January.] A slightly hazy golden amber pour with a loose cream coloured head; aroma of grapefruit and pineapple; tropical fruit taste to start, but immediately followed by pine and resin, then revealing a pleasant caramel malt body; the finish is much more gentle and refined than expected from the initial hop load, with woody bitterness,a dry grainy sourness, and well hidden alcohol. Rather good.

35.5 cl can at home on 11th Jan 2019. Golden amber body, hint of a haze, thin white head. Hoppy little number this one. Tropical fruit esters alongside some piney notes in the nose, taste also fruity and woody; liked it. Nice alcohol kick too.

Can at Hoppy HRS, Bangkok. Poured a hazy light amber colour with a short-lived frothy white head. The aroma is toffee malt, big tropical citrus fruit, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a smooth, sweet toffee malt, biscuit dough yeast, juicy fruit, light alcohol, light resin, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Sample at Mind cafe. Thin white head. Clear golden pour. Lovely bitterness. Very good.

Tall can at Josh&Sunshine place. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is malty and hoppy citrus. Similar taste. Quite harsh and very bitter. Meh.

Cloudy light amber. Has some cheesy hop notes, with a slightly chewy malt notes. Has a bitter note, with a touch of grapefruit, and a caramel accent. There's still a bit of cheesiness and I'm not getting much of a galaxy note.

A lightly hazed golden ipa with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, light mineral notes, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, very nice. On tap at Whole Foods Tampa.

Can @ The Mansfield, New York. Pours dark golden with an offwhite head. Aroma of malt, grass, fruit, citrus, oranges, light grapefruit, little pine. Flavor is sweet, light bitter, malt, grass, little marmalade, citrus, oranges, piney. Medium to full body, average carbonation, sweet and light bitter finish. Maybe a little sticky with the sweetness. 250418
