Defender of the intergalactic downtrodden, conqueror of bad beers and long-winded evildoers, Galactica soars with ease from one star system to the next. Her dual-hop staff disperses justice, freedom, and intense hop flavor. Dry hopped with Galaxy Hops, this Double IPA balances a hop profile of light bitterness and notes of tropical fruit, citrus, and pine with a clean malt backbone.

I am hopeful Galactica can save me me this evening from the underwhelming results from a flavored kolsch and a seltzer, onward and perhaps upward. I have a 16 oz can from The Cellar nearby along with a snifter from Houston’s Buffalo Bayou. The can delivers a regal dark gold body, exuberant carbonation and a retentive egg-brown head. Nice with the smell, tropical fruit, pine and grass. I get a taste that is moderately aggressive with resin, mown grass, some pineapple and crackers. The lacing is appreciated. My faith is restored.

Oldschool, no fruit juice here. Hoppy and a bit malty, dark brownish orange color. Some sweetness, not too bitter. Ok.

1 pint can from Alko. Canned 12/16/19. Poured amber, clear with a thick white head. Malty, bitter, piney aroma and flavor. Age shows unfortunately, but nice body, the piney hops and bitterness makes up a little for the age.

Can [thanks Kevin] at home. Nice darker orange to reddish color with a full sized off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is exactly what a double IPA shod be like: heavy malt base, even more heavily hopped with loads of resin and pine. Flavor is similar. Sticky resinous piney hops without being over the top and leaning towards a barleywine, but with an at least medium to firm bitterness and hoppy bitterness in there that lingers in the aftertaste. Full body, medium to full carbonation. Wow, this is the best beer I've tasted in a long time. Awesome. Many thanks Kevin!

22/11/2019. Can from Beer52. Pours slightly hazy amber gold with a long lasting average size, foamy off-white head. Aroma of pine, dank hops, malt, caramel, biscuit and tropical fruits. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, slight prickly carbonation. Sweet, resinous finish.

Tap at Bishops Arms Östersund. A dark amber IPA. Very meaty and strong. old hops. (25/3/19) --- Can at Systembolaget. Would agree that this is a classic West Coast meat job. 3.1 to 3.2.
