From a 275 ml bottle shared in Avon NC. Vintage 2005. Pours a hazy amber with a feint off white head that quickly disappears. Sweet port aroma. Flavors of port, oak and candy sugar. Very sweet but a fabulous dessert beer. Smooth mouthfeel. Well concealed alcohol, but present in the finish.

2004 Bottle. Malt all the way, raisins and caramel. Port comes through a little, but closest to the non-barrel version, except somehow this one had a lovely light carbonation that the others lacked, and that was superb.

Copper colour with no head. Smells hazel nut, bit sweet. Tastes very sweet, hazel nut, some wood. Quite nice, but the lagavulin one is more special. Very soft, low cabro and medium body.

Sampled from 275cl bottle thanks to Joes. A bit hazy orange color, some floaties in it, no head. Smell malts, port (I guess), slightly sweet. Taste sweetish malts, a lot of liquor (port again?), pretty sweet overall as well. Medium to full body, low carbonation. Long lasting sweet and liquor aftertaste.

Bottled 275ml (vPBF, vintage 2004)
Deep ruby-brown color, tiny beige head. Sweet marmalade, sherry aroma, a bit oxidized. Medium to full-bodied. Very sweet. Madeira/sherry flavors. Excellent dessert beer, perhaps few years too much as there is some notes of oxidation.

27,5 cl bottle vintage 2004 @ vPBF
Aroma has some raisins and vanilla. Flavour is really sweet with some porto, raisins and sugar. High viscosity and rather sticky palate, but good still.

2004 vintage - Pours dark murky orange with a tiny white head. Aroma of apples, raisins, port wine, sweet syrup, caramely malts, toffee. Taste is sweet and malty with notes of raisins, port wine, caramel, toffee and hints of spices. Sticky and sweet finish, with wine like notes. Quite sweet, but perhaps slightly more balanced than the original one.

Bottle, brewed in 2009. Pours hazy amber-gold with a very small tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma is sweet fruit including grape, a bit of caramel, strong alcohol notes, almost sherry-like. Flavor hits like a bomb with fruit, grape, raisin, caramel, strong alcohol, a bit of bubblegum. Very sweet from start to finish. Very interesting brew.
