473ml can. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma with notes of white coffee, hints of nuts, cream, a touch of liquorice, lactose. Taste is sweet-ish, roasty dark malty, slightly alcoholic, notes of molasses, some lactose, hints of plum brandy, grappa. Full body, oily texture, soft, creamy palate. Quite boozy.

Can shared by Marcus. Pours very dark brn/blk with a transient/slight dark tan head. Aroma of dark treacle, anise, and chocolate. Full bodied. Flavor is dark treacle, earthy, chocolate, slight touch of anise. It’s drier than it should be? It’s earthy chocolate. Burnt grain/wood or smoke is ever present, but until the brain pays attention, the other flavors obscure it.

16 ounce can. Pours a pitch black color with a medium dark tan head. A big sweet licorice nose, caramel. Sweet, very sweet, licorice, ashy, big sugary malts, molasses, some heat. Love the crazy can design. Not much dark fruit, hot, more molasses. Solid. Big.

Pour is a motor oil black with a huge tan head. Aroma is a real big bakers chocolate with some molasses and charred cacao nibs. Flavor is a big dry roast with more bitter bakers chocolate and some chocolate power. This is a full on dry Impy stout with none of the alcohol showing up. Not a huge roast but a lot of dry bitter chocolate. A real well done Impy stout that did not need any adjuncts to help it out.

Sampled from a can this beer poured a black color with a small fluffy dark brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was anise, floral hops, toasty malts and strong chocolate. The flavor was bitter and roasty, a bit smokey, and had intense chocolate, anise and floral hops. long finish. Thick and creamy body. Excellent
