Just after opening our brewery, working long nights, weekends, and still working our day jobs, my brother Daniel (the brewer) had twins. Cheers to his courage and dedication to making better beer.

Not a bad pale ale, but not great. Nothing distinctive. Drinkable but doesn't seem too fresh. Touch thin, decent finish. Update: like it much better this time around, more fresh and flavorful. Pick up the Citrus and some dankness. Good beer.

Bottle from Wine Tree East. Pours a clear orange gold with a full 2 fingers of head that lingers. Lovely grapefruit, iyokan aromas with faint pine and stone fruit as it warms. Perfect texture...great carbonation, mineral water note with low malt character. Medium bitter pine notes with a long dry finish with some dried stone fruit and zesty citrus. My first beer from Maine Beer and it did not disappoint. I could drink this all day. --- Beer merged from original tick of Beer MO on 16 Aug 2018 at 21:47 - Score: 8. Original review text: Everything I like in a pale ale: bright, fruity nose, low malt, bone dry, medium bitterness, slight mineral water note. Fantastically clean.

Found somewhere in Portland on my trip there. Pours a clean golden colour with lots of nice slow carbonation, creating a big head, almost creamy, very long lasting with good lace. Citrus zest aromas with hints of pine. The mouthfeel is slightly dry, but the bitterness is quite light. Citrus flavours, peel again. Gets hazier by the pour. A decent American Pale Ale, that refreshes, goes down nicely... but nothing more.

Hazy light amber, thin head. Touch of brett on the nose, sweet and slightly biscuity malts, dry, herbal earthy hops, malts on the palate are mostly sweet.. Good balanced character.

500 ml bottle. Hazy medium gold color. Large rocky white head. Nice citrus hop nose hints at pine. Soft fruity, crackery malt flavor. Notes of peach, hay, pineapple, lemon and pine. Complex flavors, yet a soft silky mouthfeel. Wonderful flavor and balance. Mildly bitter, dry finish is outstanding. A truly great American Pale Ale.

(On tap @ Bottlecraft North Park, SD, April 4/17) Pours a lightly murky orange-gold with a big white head and lace. Aroma of lots of bright citrus, pine needles, some floral fruitiness, a little caramel malt, cereal grains, quite balanced but pretty big hop nose. Flavour is robust citrus zest mix, pine, floral tropical fruit like passion fruit or lychee, orange flesh, a little caramel and bread from the malt, resinous bitterness building in the finish, fairly rich cereals for style, lingering floral quality. Moderate bitterness overall. Medium-full body for style with fairly creamy carb. This is a pretty ’big’ APA but the malt is actually surprisingly well layered and the hop presence robust. I don’t normally love this more old school approach, but it’s a very solid offering.
