12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Milwaukee. After the last several years of collabs I was anticipating and hoping for a collab with Weihenstephaner. Clear amber, large frothy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of toasted malt, herbal and grassy, almost lemony, hops. Taste is toasted malt, caramel, citrusy and herbal hops. Medium bodied, crisp, a bit on the hoppy side but decently balanced. Solid. 9/17/18.

12 oz bottle purchased at Harry’s Liquor Store in Leawood, Kansas. Pkgd 8/14/18 on label. The pour is clear golden copper with a ½ light tan head that falls quick. Nice effervescent bubbles rising to the surface. The aroma is hay, grass, bit of herbal malt. Honey as it warms. The taste is a super clean balance of the herbal grass and the nut caramel malt. The palate is light to medium bodied, active carbonation and dry grass mineral finish. Clean all the way through.

Bottle drunk 9/25/18.
Clear copper-rust. Off-white head recedes quickly to ring.
Smells quite amazing! Big herbal bouquet with elegant, sourdough-tinged honey-like malts. Light caramel and red fruit are picked up through the middle, adding complexity and it ends with no flaw or alcohol.
In the mouth, however, it's far less (not at all) elegant, with caramel, heavy bread and an almost corn-meets-oxidation flavor. Quite (overly) sweet, even given the expected maltiness for the style. Only light hop bitterness without much, if any, actual hop flavor. Low, yet quite peppery, forceful carbonation. Wow, the aroma was MUCH more promising. Too sweet, corny, overly bready and almost metallic.

Bottle - clear copper - clean, rich maltiness that is not super sweet (though it finishes with some kettle carmelization), tasting toasty and bready - the middle brings some spiciness and warmth that lasts through the finish - doesn't entirely hold up to the best examples, but it still quite good.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from The Beer Store, Nashua. Appearance is clear, copper orange with light sparkle, 1/2-finger width, fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is caramel, bread, cardboard, earthy European hops. Taste is moderate fruit and bread. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, average-to-lively carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a little too much emphasis on "subtle" and "crisp, clean and drinkable." Code words for not much flavor/complexity. Not the most exciting style in the world to begin with, but pretty pedestrian.

Bottle from CBB. Rch mslt, biscuits, light lemon and grass. Clear orange with a medium head. Full malt flavor but manages to be crisp and almost light. Nice citrus hops. Lemony, medium sweetness, near full body. Wish I had a case.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold color with a light beige head and good retention. No lacing. Caramel malt aroma. Tastes like a malty Heineken. Good caramel base beer with a euro lager skunk and light hops finish. Good, but could have been better. Clean finish. Light-medium body with a flat mouthfeel. 6.0 ABV is well hidden.
