Bourbon like crazy brown ale. Boozy and brown maltyness.

Bottle from J's shared at Lucky Bamboo. Pours a deep brown with a small bit of off-white foam that dissipates. Toffee and caramel aromas with oak and whisky aromas. Some light tobacco as it warms. Gets a bit boozy as it warms on the palate. More caramel, toasted toffee, malt and grain with more whisky. Some plum and prune as it warms as well. Not bad, but doesn't wow.

Bottle. Pours lightly hazy dark brown with a tan head. Aroma: wood, dark fruits, toffee, molasses, vanilla, nuts & whisky. Taste: heavy sweet & bitter, burnt sugar, molasses, oak, plums, figs, a little chocolate, boozy. Medium to full body, light carb, oily mouthfeel, earthy sweet finish. An interesting & complex beast

Rich brown coloured body with a slightly thinnish look when held at an angle and with a completely non-existant tan head that doesn't ever develop in the glass. Aroma of alcohol, whiskey, nuts, earth, pitted fruits, caramel, toffee, grain and a ridiculous amount of peanut brittle. Medium-bodied; Assertive, pungent and defining alcohol character with a lot of bitterness and warming on the initial taste with a big profile and deep flavour, predominantly from the alcohol. Aftertaste shows more of a complexity than initially with some earth and grain in the malt bill, a sweet and pungent nutty flavour with pecans and pure caramelised sugars are also around. Overall, a very pungent and deep flavoured beer that shows decently enough, but some off-tastes are definitely around, but weighing each of the aspects actually show a decent enought beer. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Spec's Liqour in Dallas, Texas on 01-September-2015 for US$11,57 sampled at home in Washington on the first 'snowfall' of the year on 09-December-2017.
