A beautifully aromatic and balanced milk stout with delicious notes of peanut butter, coffee, and dark chocolate. This dark, mythical beer nods to the long-passed legends of our region’s seafarers.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice to to three centimetre tall light brown head that fades fairly slowly. Aroma of peanuts, caramelised sugars, molasses, grain, roasted malts, milk, cream, lactose and a big dose of peanut butter - strong and pungent. Medium-bodied; Very strong peanuty and sweet malty bite with a lot of peanut butter, cream, lactose and molasses with a pungent roasty bite and more sweetness than I expected with a soft finish. Aftertaste shows some molasses, syrupy and creamy, lactosey notes with a lot of peanut butter, almonds and especially earthy notes dominate here with a fairly easy-drinking, but thick-ish bite from the body and malts. Overall, a very nice peanuty, malty and super rich creamy and lactose flavours with a good balance, but the pungency stretches from the sweetness to the malt in a good way and perhaps shows more alcohol than what's actually here, but it's nice and rich and very adequate for a chilly night here in Washington. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchaed from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 10-July-2020 for US$3,95 sampled at my house here in Washington on 27-January-2021.
