Kettle Series. When hopportunity knocks, answer it. This ale is Caldera’s rendition of answering the Pacific Northwest call for a @*! pile of Centennial hops with a big beer to back it up. Don’t get left out in the cold, open up and fill the void within you . . .

Can @ derat, large sample. Slight hazy amber color, short frothy head. Aroma of some grapefruit, lemon grass, cookie malt. Soft bitterness, quite some malty sweetness. Dont know how fresh it is, but it seems to go towards a malty ipa with not a lot of fresh hoppiness around. Ok.

Can from Drinkshop. Gushing. High bitterness, alcohol lightly poking out, light dry fruits, hops flavour is relatively restrained. Dry resiny piney finish. Average. Boozy.

12 oz can poured. Pours a thick copper orange with a near infinite foam head and lacing. Huge hoppy orange fruit aroma. Thick body, nice sweet fruit flavor throughout. A little bitter in the late finish, but overall a good IPA here.

Can from Mitsuya’s. Drank straight from the can. Some pine, resin and grapefruit aromas. Taste is more of the same. Good use of Centennial with a nice malt backbone that has some caramel sweetness. Bitter finish with good grapefruit and sweetness. Well-balanced, but a little run-of-the-mill. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hopportunity Knocks on 19 Sep 2015 at 15:59 - Score: 7

Huge yellow-cream head over clear, foxy copper beer; textbook lace. Orangezeste and caramel, suggesting a syrupy character. Caramel, toasted, rather sweet; oranges and orangezeste syrup-preserved. Exotic fruit... on syrup. Bitterness - very mild - comes as an aftertought. Aftertaste displays biterish wet cardboard. Quite viscous, near sticky feel. Not bad in se, but waaay too sweet for a really good IPA.
