Bottle at the second 42nd Floor Tasting. Thanks to Dan. It pours darkest brown with a small light tan head. The nose is toasty, bitter-sweet, earth, jammy bramble, earth and tangy dark malts. The taste is toasty, earthy, charred wood, dirt, peppery spice, jam, cheap coffee and mild acidity with a shot, ashy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit rough around the edges for my liking.

330 ml bottle from a French deli store in Vienna.
Black body, with a big, dense, creamy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of coffee, smoke, ash, dark chocolate, dark fruits.
Tastes of ash, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, some liquorice, dark fruits.
Quite full, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes roasty, quite dry, with ash, coffee, some cocoa.
Very nice. Fully armomatic, but also quite easy to drink, with the alcohol completely hidden. I like the ash notes a lot. Really satisfying, solid Stout.
