This is our classic American IPA. Hopped for flavor and balance in the kettle, and heavily dry hopped in the fermentor. Crisp, clean, and clear.

Can from The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Hazy amber colour with thickish lasting off white head. It’s certainly got a hoppy aroma. A little tinny metallic oxidised hop that has nothing to do with the can container but to do with the freshness of the hops. Typical American IPA we get here in the UK where the hops just aren’t fresh enough. Some caramel and metallic flavours. I mean it’s probably a good beer at source, just a bit difficult this far away. the mouthfeel is good. bitterness on finish is good. just I would imagine fresh it’s stunning. This is good but not at it’s finest I would say.

At the flying elk, Stockholm. A nice gold color with orange tints. A citrus & spice aroma & an ascetic bitter bind taste. Nice enough but too bitter & not complex enough for me.

12 fl oz can. Orange-golden amber colour, frothy foam white head and aroma of tropical fruits, peach, orange, piney hop resin. Taste is sweetish malt caramel with juicy peach, orange and grapefruit, pine hop, earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, warming dry bitter finish. Very drinkable IPA.

Can from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham, Consumed in a field at Truck Festival, Steventon, Oxon 19.07.13 watching Ash do their stuff. Very decent IPA. Hoppy nose with pine needles amongst the aromas wafting from this. Good solid biscuit malty base. Citrus also present in the mouth, there is a little dryness, it is a very good beer. 12 oz can purchased at Growler’s Craft Beer & Ales in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. 6/17/13 stamped on the bottom of the can. The pour is a very cloudy orange golden with an off white head. The aroma is great fresh hop nose, tropical fruit, very floral and resin. The taste is vibrant hop - the tropical grapefruit, floral elements, pine and resin are all balanced nicely on top of a nice toasted cracker malt. The palate is medium bodied, natural active carbonation, and a dry bitter finish. Really fresh and nice, this was fantastic to have consistently at the beach and pool.

Tap at The Griffon. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The nose is fresh floral, grass, hay, peach, nectarine and light mandarin. The taste is crisp, grassy bitterness, floral, resin, spice, wood, pithy citrus, caramel and a light alcohol bite with a bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, refreshing and pretty drinkable stuff.

Can at home. Pours a hazy orange colour with big light beige creamy head. Powerful herbal and hoppy aroma with citrus, peach and some pine. Nice. The flavour is also fruity and sweet, and with a distinct hoppy touch in the end. Slick and smooth mouth feel, and a medium lasting bitterness. A fresh, fruity and hoppy IPA. Well-balanced.

The pour produces a hazy, dark yellow body with a chunky, off-white head. Piney hop aroma. The flavor profile is lightly bitter from the start all the way through the long finish. Malts are there but they let the hops star.
