Papegaei is a blond beer with an alcohol volume of 8%. The beer is lightly drinkable and has a rich bouquet of hops. Papegaei is brewed with fresh hop flowers, which means that the flowers are dried but not turned into an extract or pellets, so they keep their natural form (and taste!). The mash of Papegaei contains barley, wheat and oats. Papegaei is a top fermented beer with a second fermentation in the bottle. The beer is neither filtered nor pasteurized.

Papegaei is brewed and bottled by Adam Verstraete at the Deca brewery in Woesten.

A golden beer, a head is quite big and blond. Aroma has generic fruitness, some flowers and spicyness. Taste has fruitness, spicyness, some flowers. Medium bodied. Traditional, but tasteful.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20201013) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, Belgian style yeast, fruitiness and floralness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grass, floralness, Belgian style yeast, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had Belgian style yeast, malts and bitterness. Quite nice brew with floral notes and clean hop notes.

Bottle. 6% (according to label!) Golden color. Citrus and tropical fruit in the aroma. Citrus and mango in the sweet, rather alcoholic flavor. Grassy notes. Slightly perfumed.

0.33l bottle. Golden body with a thin white head. Aroma and taste of bread, sugar syrup, banana, apples and floral hops. Nice one.
