Bottle @ PapsΓΈ. Tasted blind. Pours pitch black with a small creamy head and lacings. Sweet and vinous nose. Hard roasted coffee, vanilla and bourbon. Smooth and chewy malty. Sticky and oily. Lasting dry roasted end with some warmth and rather hot alcohol.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of byaeger. Pours a clear very dark brown with a tint of red and a smallish beige head. Aroma of Bourbon - and brown Malaco licorice allsorts... Rather boozy nose. Medium body, some hard roasted malts, very hot and boozy rather than woody. Some malt bitterness and a shitload of booze. 270310

Waxed bomber, courtesy of kiefdog, pours deep dark brown with almost no head. The aroma is a bit mild with notes of caramel, molasses, fairly strong levels of bourbony booze, some oak, dark roastiness and some chocolate. The taste is rich thick smooth velvety YUM with sweetness running from molasses to caramel to malts. The barrel notes do a good job cover up most of the base beer goodnesss. I get firm assertive bourbon and a bit of oak from midway and into the finish. Less barrel time would have been nice.
