0.33 l bottle as ’Septem Saturday’s Porter’ from ’De Bierkoning’, bottled in July 2015. Clear, very dark red with a huge, creamy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Sweetish, fruity-malty aroma of raisins, blackberries, some dark chocolate and nuts. Sweetish, fruity-roasty taste of raisins, blackberries, dark chocolate and coffee, followed by a medium long, roasty and slightly bitter finish with notes of coffee. Thin to medium body, effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. A beauty in the glass, an appealing aroma but a disappointing taste and a bit thin as well. Still nice though!

Bottle at picked up at Craft and Draft (shop) Amsterdam, consumed at Camping Het Riven, Landsmeer Nr Amsterdam, Netherlands, Monday 5th October 2015. Some chocolate on the nose but a bit of wet cardboard also. Brown on colour with a large frothy beige head. Smooth with a little milky chocolate, fruity and with a little tang. It is ok but perhaps a little thin at times. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Bottle shared by Cuso. Clear ruby-brown colour. Aroma surprisingly hoppy, fruity, some chocolate hidden beneath. Taste showcases a balance between hops and roasted notes, far more hoppier than your usual porter. Balanced in taste and lingering grassy hoppiness in finish. Easily drinkable and sessionable. Rather thin bodied. Very good.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Saturday's Porter on 24 May 2018 at 15:19 - Score: 6

Black with thin head and fine carbonation. Nice and strong aroma of heavily roasted malts. Flavour also has strong, bitter roasted malts. Body is slightly thin but it’s only 5.5% and is very full flavoured.

Dark brown color with a light beige head with short duration and good lacework. Aroma has notes of dry fruits, toasted malts and caramel. Flavor is slightly sweet, nutty notes with burnt sugar hints and toasted malts, some toffee taste. Slightly sweet final with soft body.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub shared by Erwin Van Moll. Nice dark red-brown color with a dark red hue coming through, medium sized beige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, roast, toasted malts, chocolate, a bit earthy. Tastes about the same: malts, roasted malts, toasted malts, bitter, earthy, some caramel and brown malts, earthy bitter. Medium body, medium a bit fizzy yet suitable carbonation. Good porter. Style wise this would score 4+ imo, but since that’s not the way we rate on RB my score is a little lower.
