(Bottle, In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 28 Feb 2015) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee, black rye bread and a touch of liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, black rye bread and a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced and tasty porter. Nice one.

Rated as Septem Saturday’s Seasonal Porter. Smoooth malty beginning. Fresh, nice roasted malts with a nice and floral bitterness. Hints of mint (thus there is only Fuggles in and probably no Polaris), fresh, smooth. The aftertaste is long, minty-chocolate with hints of a nice roasted bitterness. But for me the minty touch is too much.

Bottle at the Dirty Old Sock Tasting, Den Haag, December 2014. Poured a clear dark brown with a round bubbly off white head. The aroma is woody malt, earthy mineral. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light smoky hop bitter light liqourice palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Malzig herber, etwas röstiger Antrunk. Dabei zunehmend trocken, herber, weiter röstig. Etwas zu starke Karbonisierung. Bitteres Finish mit Kaffeenoten. 10/10/8/9/12/9
