Maple Syrup Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coffee Chocolate Stout

CBS was born when we stumbled upon some bourbon barrels that had previously housed maple syrup. We opted to put the same base beer as KBS, an imperialized version of Breakfast Stout, in the maple barrels and, after one taste, we knew we had something special. Rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.

Nice stuff. But full on. Coffee, spice, maple syrup. Roasty and bitter. Bit smoky maybe.

Fairly thin body, sweet, a bit boozy. Milk coffee, some maple, some bourbon, a hint of racism. Loved the previous years, this feels a bit watered down. Still very nice.

10.09.19.I remember my first CBS, it blew my mind so much I drove to a buddies house a couple blocks away cause I didn't want it to be a selfish experience. This is far from that. Mostly sweet coffee. No more maple chocolate overdose. More malt than maple

Not nearly as good as I recall from earlier years. Not sure if it's me or the beer. Both, probably. Not as insanely maple, but plenty of coffee and a bit of maple. Bourbon. Very smooth, a bit boozy and nicely drinkable.. just not as unique?
