(Draught at De Prael Proeflokaal, Amsterdam, 1 March 2014) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark bread, aromas of smoke and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with dark bread, coffee, hints of smoke, ashes and a fairly dry finish with a certain bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Well made porter with a gentle smoke touch. Nice one.

No idea where this came from... but it poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is smooth creamy roasted malt, slightly smoky. The flavour is medium bitter with a slightly watery malt, hop liqourice bitter palate and a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Kinda liked this one. The roasted malt was almost chewy and the smokiness was just right. I would buy this again.

Bottled @ de Molen, small sample. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, hint of coffee, quite some licorice, hint of tar. Lots of licorice in flavor, medium bitter mostly of the malts, some spicy licorice sweetness. Bit dry in the finish, slight creamy. Quite nice!

On tap at Prael Proeflokaal. Dark brown colour, beige head. Faint aroma if smoke, salt, salmiak, brown malts, mineral water, roast. Flavour is very fizzy, some roasted and light smoked malts, hint of cocoa, light-bitter salty finish. Fizzy, prickly carbonation, watery. Not what I hoped it would be.
