This is a BIG beer. We basically took the Hoppy Feet recipe and multiplied everything by 1.5. This created a wonderfully unique beer that has a deeper malt balance, bolder hop profile, and an extremely fresh aroma. When comparing to regular Hoppy Feet you will notice much sweeter malt notes mixed in with a more pronounced chocolate and dark fruit flavor. The malt flavors are balanced off with strong pine and citrus notes from the addition of A LOT of hops. This beer was actually dry-hopped not once but TWICE with each of the hop varieties (Columbus, Cascade, and Amarillo).

22 oz bottle purchased at Garys Beverage in Portsmouth, NH. Used a shaker glass. Opaque black, HUGE frothy beige head. Lots of lace down the shaker. Mild carbonation. Taste is ridiculous amounts of roast and some bitter dark chocolate. Packed with malt, that’s okay to me in this case. Pretty bitter but only a mild citrus and pine hop flavor. Small grapefruit notes hiding in the background. Almost a nutty note in the finish as well. Well balanced. Medium-full bodied. Feels very smooth and even a bit creamy. The roasted and bitter flavors create a nice dry feeling in the finish. Very drinkable.

Back in '11.Strong hit of hops mixed with roasted flavors and coffee but as it progresses, hops become the dominant player. Juicy and pulpy

Another deep dark IPA with a dark brown head. In aroma, intense floral c-hops, with meaty notes, mentol, chocolate, very imperial. In mouth, a smooth dark chocolate with alcohol, c-hops herbaceous notes, delicious. On tap at Boston Beer Summit, Jan. 15 2011.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha conglomerate head with excellent retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Dark chocolate, pine and resin aromas. Sweet chocolate syrup upfront turning to a deep pine resin middle before returning to chocolate covered pit fruit before a lasting grapefruit finish. Quite a long going on...and very good.
