Very good, better than the prototype version. Some caramel, booze, chocolate. Classic in taste despite the rye. Finishes light bitter with some sweetness. Dark brown/black with ok head and lacing. Tap at Churchkey.

Pours murky black with a modest head, I’d prefer more of it on top though. Sweet barley on the nose (or perhaps that’s rye), oiliness, hints of licorice. Flavour is strong meaty rye with a spicy twang on the back end, some burning from the alcohol. Dry finish. Meaty and heavy. Pretty good.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, beige head. Aroma is sweet, chocolate, liquorice, molasses, pumpernickel. Flavour is sweet, malty, roasted malts, rye, chocolate, liquorice, light spicy, light bitter, bittersweet finish. Medium to full-bodied. Nice, but a bit too much on the sweet side, and lacks a bit of depth IMO.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown pour with big foamy dark tan head, chocolate and dark fruit aroma, taste had dark fruits with big expresso coffee and hints of chocolate, trace of vanilla, glorious viscous mouthfeel, excellent.
