The character of the elderberry flowers lends this beer a very pronounced, floral taste that is nevertheless very refreshing.
Since 2008, once a year Cantillon Brewery has produced Zwanze, a special-edition beer that is completely different each time around, with Mamouche originally appearing as Zwanze 2009. This beer is completely different from anything else produced by Cantillon, and we decided to continue producing it on a regular basis. Mamouche is what the seven grandsons of the Van Roy-Cantillon family call their grandmother, Claude Cantillon. As such it is the counterpart of the Lou Pepe beers.

0,75l from bottle at Moeder Original. Yellow hazy color, small white head. Smells of elder flowers, subtle berry notes, flowery, grassy, earthy. Needs a bit, but then lovely, lovely smell. Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes peppery, grassy, flowery, black pepper, bit earthy. Finishes lightly dry and light to medium sour with notes of grassy, flowery and peppery notes. Taste is rather peppery, but smell is nice, overall very good one

Bottle. Clear yellow pour with a white head. Herbs and what I assume is elder flower aromas. Sour and tart with classic Cantillon citrus/lemon notes and some herbal/floral additions. Not my favorite Cantillon, but still a very nice beer.
