Thanks to yespr for this one. The bottle looks simple, but good. The beer in the glass quite dark, orange-brown, huge head. Starts milder than exspected, modest hoppy-grasy, flowery-spicy. Finish much drier, woody, also a bit scratchy. Good IPA!

330ml bottle, shared by Finn. Creamy, white tophead, blanketing the glass. Near-clear, amber body. Plain aroma of fruity hops, rather mild. Semi-sweet malts beneath a prominent flavour of citrus peel. Fruity bitterness to a lingering finish (session at Finns in Tromsø, 19.05.2010).

Bottle. Amber, fine lasting, lacing light beige head. The hop aroma is suffused with firm caramel and hay. Hops are earthy and citric (bitter oranges or kumquats more than grapefruit) with some pine and grass. Mouthfeel more oily than creamy. Quite a lot of upfront citric bitterness, but not so much that it overwhelms the mildly sweet malt. Lingering zesty bitterness. To my taste, there’s pretty much exactly as much bitterness here as the malt base can take.

Nice ever so slightly hazy copper coloured body with orange tints, a nice dense (two centimetre tall) dark tan head. Aroma of you guessed it - fresh hops, malt, sugars and perhaps a bit of cleanser. Medium-bodied; Assertive, drying and bitter hops in the taste that show very potent and well up front then fade very quickly. Aftertaste shows a good malt backbone, some fruity kicks, but a lot of dry and grassy hop flavours - must be the distinctive characteristics of amarillo. Overall, a very well done IPA and shows these hops nicely - not my favourite hop varietal, but a well executed beer and showing well on almost all fronts. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 14-March-2010 sampled at home in Washington on 06-May-2010. The cap of the bottle reads 04-November-2011 - not sure what this means however.

If you like Amarillo hops, you’ll like this one. Amberish pour with a nice white head. Orange and lemon nose. Lots of caramel in the mouthfeel. Some citrus as well. Rated on 4/8/10

Pours orangey amber with the large off-white persistent head I’m used to seeing with the Mikkeller IPA’s. Many rings of lacing.Nose shows lots of juicy fruits, confectionary, oranges, lemon, resin and peach blossom. Underneath is noticeable caramel malty goodness. This is great!Flavours include more resin, peach and loads of caramel. Bold bitterness quickly asserts itself (overshadowing most of the other characteristics in the process) but is unfortunately slightly metallic.Carbonation seems a little high, cuts the sweetness that I would have liked to last through the finish.

Bottle with Craig, consumed at mine 09-04-10 picked up at Dranken Geers, March 2010 Pours warm gold the head seemed more off white and foamy. Crisp but the a bittersweet bite, nicely balanced some pithiness from the citrus. A tasty beer but I think the Tomahawks brashness which we had before sort of affected my overall enjoyment a little with this. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle at the Poperinge train station to see Owen off to Brewdog. Nice balance for a single hop, sharp bitter aroma, taste, and finish.

Bottle from Star Grocery in Berkeley, CA. Pours orange with a multi-finger foamy off-white head. Aromas of floral and grapefruit. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavor is quite bitter. Beyond grapefruit rind. Finishes very bitter. Sort of like sucking grapefruit fibre. Good stuff.
