Blend of lambics aged on average 16 to 18 months and of Merlot grapes.
Lambic can be rightly considered the missing link between the worlds of wine and beer, and Saint Lamvinus takes this one step further by adding grapes normally intended for wine production.
Intense, fruity beer that lingers on the palate and has a clear connection to its winemaking origins.

From a 75 cl bottle vintage 2014 courtesy of Kermis. Thanks, Bro! Pours a cloudy rose with an ecru head. Funky vinous aroma. Flavors of tart grapes and oak. Tasty.

750ml bottle. Pours a beautiful hazy deep red with a small, fizzy, short lived, pink head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma of sour red grapes, red wine, brett and oak. Sweet fruity flavour of red grapes, red wine, vinegar and oak with a crisp, dry, tart finish. Medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Excellent.

Jug from the brewery owner. A hint of sweetness remains to spice up the fresh grape fruitiness. Easy drinking, quite thin bodied, but very enjoyable with a clean lactic grapey finish.

Dead centre. Amazing as always and an incredible combo with the veal-themed dish. Delicious!

Bouteille: RosΓ© coloured, nearly clear, big - but quickly collapsing - pinkish head, lively carbonation; solid dry fruity (a bit cherry-like) nose, presumably some wood underneath, distinctive cellary and bretty aromas in the background, malic and/or citric acid detectable as expected; solid dry - fortunately not extremely dry, as expected - sour flavour, medium bodied and - surprise - quite soft by Cantillon standards; dry sour-fruity finish, balanced by a little residual sweetness. Superb stuff, pretty well drinkable...
