Blend of lambics aged on average 16 to 18 months and of Merlot grapes.
Lambic can be rightly considered the missing link between the worlds of wine and beer, and Saint Lamvinus takes this one step further by adding grapes normally intended for wine production.
Intense, fruity beer that lingers on the palate and has a clear connection to its winemaking origins.

Bottle from the Koelschip, Copenhagen, courtesy of FX. Poured a hazy reddish pink with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is big acid citrus, red berry fruit, yeast, mineral. The flavour is moderate sour with a smooth, flavourful, fruity yeast acid vinous palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Super smooth and lots of fruit. A big funky lambic.

Sour cherries, grapes, grape stones, woody, young green, berries, strawberry, apricot, brier. Over medium sour, medium mineral/salty and sweet underlaying. Soft smooth chalky texture, light bubbly carbonation, very nice. | [2020-12-26 17:57:00] - Locatie: SjogroWorld™ - Score: 4.2 - Comment: Printed bottle date: 14 November 2016. Clear red, light ring head. Sour grains, hay, grapes. Fruity and sour with firm horseblanket funk. Sharp high pitched fruity sour reminiscent of strawberries, to some more bass sour notes close to grapes. Soft carb. | [2022-09-18 17:35:14] - Locatie: Recreatiepark Beekbergen - Score: 4.5 - Comment: 7% from 16 DECEMBER 2019. Strong hay funk, dark grapes, red wine, oak, some hazelnut, cinnamon. Quite sour, feels fierce. | [2023-08-27 02:27:53] - Locatie: Marnixstraat - Score: 4.5 - Comment: Vintage 2016. Grapey joy. Very good balance. | [2026-02-06 20:42:51] - Locatie: SjogroWorld™ - Score: 4.5 - Comment: Season 24/25. Yummy. 🍇 Fantastisch spul dit. Dikke lambiek en ook heel veel druif. Zwaar maar zwaar lekker. Ga het nog steeds telkens meer waarderen.

0.75 l bottle at RBBWG 2016 in Antwerpen. Slightly hazy, golden reddish amber with a white head. Sweetish, sourish, fruity aroma of red grapes, vinegar and some oak. Sweet-sourish, fruity aroma of red grapes, some oak and vinegar, followed by a short, slightly bitter, tart finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent and astringent mouthfeel. Great!

Poured into a wineglass showing well filtered dark rose red with a head of clear white foam. The nose shows a lot of bretty funk and mild notes of dark fruit typical of red wine - think plums, boysenberries, and cassis. The palate is moderately carbonated and medium bodied. A moderate tartness throughout with a slight tannic astringency. Red wine bitterness on the finish. After the initial flavors, the dark fruit flavors come forward upon the linger and stay on the palate for a long finish. Mid-palate reveals the dark fruit but a moderate intensity.

75cl bottle. Pours a deep violet, hazy, with a light violet head. Smells acrid, of vinegar, macerated grapes, apple cider, caramel. Very one-dimensional taste, sour, with notes of macerated fruit, funky lambic, vinegar. A well done lambic, I just thought I’d feel the grapes more.
