Anna (1902-1993) was our grandfather’s sister; Hill Farmstead Brewery rest upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this honey Farmstead® ale is crafted from American malted barley, European and American hops, Vermont wildflower honey, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Anna.

Tap at ermitage. Hazy yellow with white head. Sweet and sour grain, wheat, citrus and grass. Medium sweet and sour and bitter. Clear golden with white head, sweet and sour grain, lemon rind, elderflower, light lavender honey, very floral, daisy hearts, dare I say it some carboardy notes in the finish.

Bottle from the brewery, bottled 2017 11 08. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a creamy white head, great retention and super thick creamy lace. Citrus nose with mild malts and Belgian Ale yeast. The taste shows a balance between the malt, sourness and sweetness of the honey. Apple hints and slight tart finish. Quite a nice sour honey ale.

Thanks to kappldav123 for sharing! Unclear pale golden. Citrus fruity smell. Taste is strong grape fruity, pale malt in the second row. Fruity tartness. Some bitterness in the background. Really nice saison stuff.

Bottle at home. Looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass light yellow, small head. Mild sourish aroma. Starts mild, malty, modest sourish, some salty hints. Flowery-spicy background. Notes of lemon, some grapes. Finish well balanced, milder. Soft-sourish aftertaste. Not bad.

Bottle. Hazy pale yellow color with white head. Aroma is yoghurt, fresh yeasts, a touch honey, very complex, coriander, a touch yoghurt. Taste is dough, citrusy, earthy, fresh yeast. Silky mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Amazing Saison, and, as we are used to from HF, almost too complex for a Saison.

Yellow greenish, large white head. Aroma is yuzu, some lambic yeast, coriander, passion fruit, mango, cookie dough. Taste is mealy tart sourness. Chalky. Mouthfeel is rather chalky with nothing much else. Didn't convince me...
