Anna (1902-1993) was our grandfather’s sister; Hill Farmstead Brewery rest upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this honey Farmstead® ale is crafted from American malted barley, European and American hops, Vermont wildflower honey, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Anna.

Gulbrun klar med hvitt skum. Lukter bondegård, blomster, noe røde epler og lyst brød. Noe syrlig mot sur. Smaker grønne epler, blomster, lyst brød og noe sitrus. Leskende matøl.

So much honey sweetness and floral character in this one. Easy lemon. Always a lovely beer

Poured from 750mL bottle (thanks Derek & JF; bottled 2021/10/27). Clear bright gold with white head. Soft funky saison yeast with an injection of wildflower honey. Enjoyable, but not my favourite HF.

0.75 l bottle from 'Etre Gourmet', 6.2% abv, bottled in December 2021, two years old. Minimally hazy, golden yellow with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity-floral, slightly funky aroma of lemon peel, gooseberry, dandelion, hay and hints of barnyard. Slightly sweetish, moderately sour, rather fruity-floral and a little funky taste of lemon, gooseberry, white grapes, hay, dandelion, some barnyard and traces of oak, followed by a medium long, gently tart, rather woody-dry finish. Medium body, gently astringent and rather effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Refreshing, typically American-style sour saison, still balanced, pleasantly fruity. I like it, but I wouldn't hand in my Saison Dupont for it.

75cl bottle from Hill Farmstead, drunk at our cabin in the woods, Stowe. Misty golden yellow appearance, large white head. Fresh, crisp wild feel that sees the wildflower honey contributes a herbal citrus linger. Good sharp sourness that is impeccably balanced with the flavour profile. Excellent.
