Anna (1902-1993) was our grandfather’s sister; Hill Farmstead Brewery rest upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this honey Farmstead® ale is crafted from American malted barley, European and American hops, Vermont wildflower honey, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Anna.

Pour at de Garde 10th Anniversary. Pale golden, light cloudiness, patchy head with ample lacing. Aroma is yeasty and funky along with notes of citrus. Taste resembles the aroma along with a nice medium tartness. Smooth, grassy, enjoyable.

750ml bottle. Hazy, yellow-ish golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, snow white head. Mildly funky, yeasty and citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of brine, mustard seed, lemon peel. Taste is tart, tangy, mildly funky, slightly citrusy fruity hoppy, hints of lemon peel, mustard seed, brine. Watery texture, dry palate, medium to fine, prickly carbonation. Clean and focussed, almost clinical, cannot detect the special quality here - disappointing.

Sereh, lemon, grass, it's a tough consideration but it's just a little better than a Nevel beer………………………………

4/II/23 - 75cl bottle @ Nieuwjaarsreceptie Gentse Biervereniging, BB: n/a, bottled/batch: XII/8/21 (2023-128) Thanks to C’kes (I think?) for sharing the bottle!
Cloudy blond yellow beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty floral, a bit fruity, lots of yeast, some honey, ok-ish. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sourish start, fruity notes coming through as well, a bit lemony, bitter, zesty, some grapefruit. Aftertaste: more sourish, pretty dry, bitter, herbal touch, grapefruit, a bit honey. Not as wild about this one as I would love to be.
