Anna (1902-1993) was our grandfather’s sister; Hill Farmstead Brewery rest upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this honey Farmstead® ale is crafted from American malted barley, European and American hops, Vermont wildflower honey, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Anna.

The sad thing about living alone during a pandemic is that I have to drink my beer all by myself. Oh fooey. Anyway, this is lovely. Surprisingly sour, given the Vermont honey. Clean, golden, lil farmy. I picture Anna as a strawberry blonde. 2019.09.05

Bottle pour in bottle share--thanks, Brian! Appearance is pale greenish-yellow with nice sparkle, thin cap of white foamy head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong pleasant mix of sweet over tart fruit, florals and mild yeast. Taste is strong tart fruit with mild sweet offset. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, good balance and strong flavors. I'm not a huge tart fan but undoubtedly well crafted.

(Keg at Mikkeller Helsinki, 20200606) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had tartness, fruitiness and grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were tartness, grain, fruitiness, spiciness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was spicy and bitter. A pleasant tart and spicy brew.
