Anna (1902-1993) was our grandfather’s sister; Hill Farmstead Brewery rest upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this honey Farmstead® ale is crafted from American malted barley, European and American hops, Vermont wildflower honey, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Anna.

Bottle. Color: Slightly hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Malt, funk, yellow fruit, herbal hints. Taste: Moderate tart, light to moderate sweet and bitter. Fruity notes of sweetish and sourish yellow fruitlike apple and peach, some citrus, some honey notes, grain and nice wild yeast funk notes. Bit vinuous, white grapes, grapeskin. Over medium body, just below average carbonation, Dry mouthfeel. Great complexity and balance. Another great beer from Hill Farmstead.

Tap @ Cloudwater FFB19, Manchester. Yellowish creamy pour, some white foam on the top. Tart saison nose, clean but also has a bit of light funk. Herbal spice character and creamy apple juice tartness in the flavor. This kind of light grass, apples, tartness and blossoming flowers. Pretty tasty experience overall, superb balance, well made beer.

On draught at Gourmet Haus in Redwood City as part of Beer Week. Pours deep yellow and hazy with a full, white head that lingered well and patterned down nicely. Faint aroma of spice and slight apricot. Taste of dust, wheat and slight lemon. I was rushed on this one as I had to catch a train....curious if it would have opened up a bit with time.

Sample at Trail's End. Pours a clear, bright, yellow color, with a big, frothy, white head. The aroma is lemon juice, straw, dried grass, and pineapple. Sweet and sugary and pleasantly tart. Light body, with a lightly acidic, grainy mouthfeel. This is an easy, balanced, and enjoyable saison.

Fluffy white collar & cover stayed 9n a hazy light lemon coloured still body. Muted aroma of lemon & pith. Medium bodied, a slight tingle to the fire followed by a soft cleansing dry back. Lemon, grape, Brett, yeast & white wine tastes. I've just visited Brasserie Cantillon today & this is as good as anything I tasted of theirs.
