Roasted malt aroma with a sweetness about it. Chocolate and slight vanilla as well. Opaque black with brown head. Roast throughout. Chocolate. Very nice bitterness balancing well with the roast and malt. Full mouthfeel fallows through on the finish with floral. Alcohol is pronounced at the finish.

Pours pitch black with a light brown head. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, vanilla, oak, chocolate and wood. Taste is slick and smooth with roasty and vanilla notes. Finish is slightly bitter, roasty and warming with dry and sticky notes. Well balanced and tasty imperial stout.

12oz bottle. I’ve had this beer on numerous occasions but have never rated it. Deep darkest shade of brown-black. Massive creamy beige head. Wow. Really nails it. Big-time chocolate notes, rich and creamy. This really is a great example of the style, on the better beers out there for sure. Dessert in a glass, rich, bold, thick body. Perfectly executed, this one raised the bar.

Bottle. Chocolate, coffee, and peat aroma. Black brown, small brown head, and nice lacing. Very complex flavor. In the first sip I detected anise, which faded into chocolate, coffee, cream, and then finished with a slight hops bitterness. Full bodied and creamy, slightly dry finish. Top notch imperial stout!

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a snifter. Batch 9554. Pours a dark black with a small amount of dark brown head. Aroma is very malty. Chocolate, coffee and caramel. Slight bitter hop aroma. Taste is light sweet and light sour and medium-heavy bitter. You can taste the chocolate and coffee very strongly. Full bodied with a thick creamy texture. Soft carbonation and a long, bitter and alcohol strong finish. Overall, this is a damn good stout. I can see why it rates 100. Definitely something I will drink again when the temperature outside cools off.

Courtesy of fonefan. Black with a big dark brown head. Aroma is quite sweet, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted rather bitter finish. 260711
