The dark member of the Švyturys traditional collection which has been brewed since 1965. Awarded multiple times worldwide, the dark red Švyturio Baltijos beer stands outs for its flavour of roasted malt, caramel and brown bread. It has a profound sweetness of malt with a light aftertaste of dried plums and chocolate.

(Draught on 2008-06-20) Copper colour. Clear. Small white head. Sweet malty nose with some hops. Lot of carbonation in medium palate. Roasted malts, caramell, bitternes in taste. Also sligtly burnt flavour.

500ml bottle. Brown-orange color, with a nice lively head. First ex-Soviet Block Marzen I’ve had to my knowledge. This is quite a pleasant surprise. Full and rich, with lots caramel malt sweetness. Very fresh tasting. There is, however, a slight adjuncty presence in the finish, perhaps sugar. Pretty good beer, worth a try.

500ml Bottle- Copper brown in colour with a large head. Pleasant fruity aroma with raisins detected along with caramel and a noticeable but but very strong alcohol smell. Bitter, fruity taste with caramel and raisins giving a pleasant aftertaste. Quite nice.

Bottle. Amber colour with a decent, off-white head. Powerful malt aroma with a touch of fruit. Flavour was of caramel and black bread. The finish was dry with a slight hint of corn starch. Ok.

Bottle at cardinal, stavanger. Light brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel, fruit. Flavour is sweet, fruit, caramel, hop, malt. Ordinary beer.

Bottle. Very strong barley malt aroma - like whiskey wort. Amber color with a moderate head. Sour barley malt. Has an unfinished quality to it.

Bottle. Clear amber color, a big beige head. Malty aroma with a bit of alcohol. Very sweet flavor with malt and lots of caramel. Medium-bodied.

[Bottle] Dark amber colour, large and dense head. Aroma is slightly roasty with notes of malt and caramel. Soft mouth feel. Flavour is roasty liquorice with a somewhat harsh finish.

500 ml brown bottle, pasteurised, ABV is 6.0%. Courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Ingredients include caramel malts and rice. Dark amber to copper colour, large head. Pleasant aroma with caramel and aromatic hops, hints of oak and alcohol. The flavour has dominant notes of caramel and alcohol, hints of rye bread and oak, moderately bitter finish.
