The term Pale Ale characterizes a lighter type of ale brewed in lighter malts. A beer with a distinctive hops fruity notes and a marked bitterness. The name is derived from a Bulldog named Krut. With over 40 pounds of muscle, Krut deserved respect. he was a true joy spreader just like this beer.

Draught at the cute Hemma Hos in Haga, Göteborg. Poured a lovely coppery amber body with a slightly off white head that went away at a medium pace. The nose was grainy with a light herbal hoppy nose. Light, relatively watery taste, herbal hoppy notes, salty, somewhat peppery . Ok session beer without much complexity, not far from a lager actually.

Medium offwhite head has coarse froth on top. Brown body. Sugary roasty caramelly malt aroma with dusty notes. Dry-sweetish roasty malty grassy taste with wooden notes. Mid-to-light body. A faint acidity can be made out. Dry-bitter grassy malty dandelion aftertaste. Quite nice, but low on taste. (0.33l draft at Glenfiddich Warehouse.)

300ml draught, served comfortably chilled at Tegners Gömställe. Clear, dark amber body colour. Film-type head. Plain smell of malts with floral hops coming through. Caramel malty flavour with a few notes of piny hops. The best part was a refreshing bitter ending. Smooth on the swallow and easy to drink (Stockholm, 03.09.2009).

Draught at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö, as Götlands Sleepy Bulldog
Nice copper color. Aroma of caramel and toffee, earthy hops, light fruitness. Dry mouthfeel, thin body, caramel and toffee flavor; correct bitterness; the final is a bit metallic and harsh as well (too bitter). Anyway, in some conditions, it may be pleasant.
