Sub Rosa means “done in secret.” This crisp lager is dry-hopped with Barbe Rouge hops from France to give it a pleasant berry tartness in the finish. It’s a nod to both New York City’s underground drinking culture – from prohibition era speakeasies to hidden neighborhood joints – and our own underground (and underage) brewing beginnings. It’s our ballad to those who strive for the seemingly unachievable.

16oz can pours out straw color topped with a white head. Nose is light grassy hops some cereal malts and spice. Taste is more of the nice sweet grain malts some fresh cut grass notes.

16oz can from Half Time . Pale straw color with a light haze, small foamy head. Light grainy aroma, straw, grass. Taste adds a little lemon, sweet, slick, oily. Finishes with a light tingle on the palate.

Can from explosivedog, thanks: pours clear gold with a white head. Aroma is light berry notes and some light bread. Taste is very clean, low bitterness, nice fruity hoppiness. Very pleasant. Very easy to drink. Quite good.

16 oz can from Beer Culture. Smells of grape must and resiny hops. Red fruit and bubble gum notes as well. Drinks incredibly clean. A weird and an interesting beer for sure, settled here, but I'm not positive how I feel about it...

Dose bei Top Hops in Manhattan. Helles, leicht trübes Gelb, kein Schaum. Aroma: Rosenwasser, Holunder, Grass. Geschmack: Rosenwasser, Malz, leicht bitter. Dünner Antrunk.

Can, from Beer Run, NY. Pours faintly cloudy pale yellow with foamy whitish head, grassy hops aroma, high carbonation, mildly bitter slightly salty taste, faint grape flavor, smooth body, medium finish. Nice brew.
