Bottle at Maltzillas World Cup 2010 tasting. Pours black with brown head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and a slight hint of red wine. I get a little more red wine taste than aroma. Flavors of roasted malts, vanilla, chocolate, coffee and wood. Full body with minimal carbonation. Good, but I think I prefer the regular Black Hole. Bottled. Pitch black colour, brown head. Aroma is quite spiced, mild alcohol, some toasted and ashy notes as well. Also some liquorice. Flavour is liquorice, salted liquorice, wood, some toasted notes as well as spices. Also some fruityness and a bit acidic notes. Very pleasant actually.

Huge, very dark brown-greige head, stable, leaving lace over pitch-black beer. Coffee and sweet alcohol, gradually very dry hop(bales) taking over as would a black hole. Dry, ashy, coffeeflavour, slightly sourish, as a real fruit soft drink... cranberry juice? In the finish there’s a discreet but agreable sweetness, for a short time, untill the roasted barley and hops finally take over following the second law of thermodynamics. Very obvious alcoholwarming, slick to viscous, better carbonated than it looks. Lascivious, delicious, but severe at the same time.

375ml bottle from Ølbutikken, shared with KnutAlbert and Skinnyviking. Dense, tan coloured head slowly reduces to a few patches. Plain black body. Hoppy and peaty to the nose. Well blended taste of sweet hops with woody dryness plus the succulence from dark fruits and notes of grainy chocolate malts. Vinous, alright. To me this was the best one of the Black Hole series (hotel room, Sct Thomas, Copenhagen 09.05.2010).

Near black with a large beige head. Sweet aroma with espresso, burned malt, dark chocolate, tannins, red whine and oak. The flavour came out sweet though balanced with tannins, oak, espresso, dark chocolate and vanilla. Plenty of hops came to live in this one cause the sweetness was balanced. Lovely.

Bottled. A very black beer with a red shine under a lazing brown head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt, caramel, wood, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt and wood as well as medium notes of chocolate and a bit of dextrose, leading to a very dry roasted and woody finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an almost opaque black with a vague tint of red and a creamy beige head leaving laces. Aroma is discreetly tart and berry-like - the burned malts are surprisingly well masked. Solid body, burned malts and ashes with a slight tartness and a massive malt bitterness. 110510

37.5 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with a vague deep amber glare and a small chocolate brown head. Dark malty, caramelish and dark chocolate. Mild fruity. Lingering dark toffee malty flavoured, chocolate and mild herbal fruity note. Mild acidic fruity and dark roasted malty finish.
