Pours pitch black with brown medium head. Aroma of coffee, spices, liquorice and burned grass. Taste of chocolate, espresso, wood, chili, pepper and smoke. Could be a little more chili in it to get more flavour than just a dry bitterness.

zwart als motorolie met schuimige bruine kraag aroma: mout, koffie, gebrande mouten, geroosterde mouten, chocolade medium zoet, matig bitter, zeer sterk bier, stevig pittig, kruidig, en heerlijke chili’s ( WOW !) vol van body, romig, chipotle pepers, vreemd maar ik vind het fantastisch ! super , mijn mond staat in de brand, snel nog een slok om het te blussen !

Bottle - Chocolate and smoke with a bit of spice, almost like a Mole. Jet black with a creamy dark brown head. Bittersweet chocolate which mellows to an almost milk chocolate and finishes with some peppery heat on the back of the throat. I feel the chocolate notes overwhelm the real chipotle flavor, but I do still enjoy it.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is smoky, chocolate, roasted malts. I don’t really get too much of the pepper in here, mostly just the smoke. Taste is somewhat bitter and smoky. Nice and thick. Lingering smoky aftertaste. An intense porter. Chipotle is mild in the taste, and you have to think about it to really get it.

Draft. Black beer with a tan head. Malt and light chili aroma. Chili and malt flavor with light chocolate. Medium bodied. Chili and malt lingers with caramel and light chocolate.

Keg at Euston Tap, London on 15 June. Not for those who don’t like spice. Pours a beautiful dark, almost black colour with a brown head. Burnt malts mingle with the chipotles. Coffee and dark, bitter chocolate and offset by the chilli tingling which spreads through the mouth. Chipotle and porter - How can you lose?
